STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL

Materials Needed:

• 2 types of fabric, at least 55cm of each

• Sharp scissors

• Pins, thread, and a sewing machine

Cutting Dimensions:

• 4 pieces of 44x39 cm for the body (2 of each fabric)

• 4 pieces of 62x8 cm for the straps (2 of each fabric)

Tips:

• For a reversible bag, purchase 2 kinds of fabric (1m of each is recommended)

• A fabric width of 140cm is ideal; get 55cm of each fabric for the bag

• If you buy 1 meter, there will be leftover for a cute bow

Step 1: Pattern Preparation

Spread the fabric on the table and trace the pattern using soap or chalk. If feeling daring, a pen or marker can be used, but remember, mistakes may be permanent.

Step 2: Cutting

Cut out the pieces, resulting in 4 smaller and 4 larger pieces. Smaller pieces form the straps, and the larger ones make up the body.

Step 3: Strap Creation

Take one smaller piece from each pattern, place them printed sides touching, and stitch about 1 cm from the edge on both sides. Turn inside out, shape the straps, and secure with a straight stitch.

Step 4: Body Preparation

Place two body pieces of the same pattern together, printed sides touching, and stitch the shorter sides about 1 cm from the edge. Repeat for the other two pieces.

Step 5: Connecting Inside and Outside

Turn one piece inside out and insert it into the other, ensuring seams face each other. Secure with pins.

Step 6: Attaching Straps

Lay the bag on the table, insert the straps between the layers, ensuring even placement and secure with pins. Stitch about 1 cm from the edge.

Step 7: Creating Bottoms

Remove the pins, then gently slide one hand inside the unfinished bag, turning it inside out.

Now, you'll observe the two reversed sections of the bag aligned at the top.

To form the bottom, begin by sewing one side together. Proceed to the opposite side, leaving a 5 cm gap. This gap will be essential for later when you flip the bags inside out, revealing the right side.

With both the inside and outside of the bag prepared, it's time to shape the corners for your desired look.

Take one corner, align the seams on top of each other, flatten it, and secure it with a couple of pins.

Place the ruler perpendicular to the seam, positioned 5 cm away from the top of the corner. Create a visible straight line and stitch along this line using a sewing machine.

Repeat this process for the remaining three corners.

Step 8: Finishing Touches

Turn the bag inside out, close the opening with an invisible hand stitch, and secure the top with a machine stitch. Your reversible tote bag is ready! Congratulations!
